MOTIVATIONAL MOMENT: PURPOSE
Oh yea. It's definitely time to be about my business. The illusion that you need to be "qualified" has just been shattered. But truthfully, scripture told us that already. Romans 8:30 says "And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified." My God NEVER told me I had to be "qualified" - I did that. I believed that illusion. I believed that if I didn't have a a certain mic, a certain sound, a certain degree, a certain budget, a certain person supporting me, a certain following, a certain status, or a certain influence that I wasn't qualified.
The past few months, I've been doing some serious soul searching and self development. I've never been cloudy about the vision God had for me, but somewhere along the way, I lost sight of it. I don't believe it was some big shift. No, it was small decisions on a daily basis that shifted me further and further away from where I KNEW I was supposed to be. Ever read/listened to The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson? You absolutely should. It's easy to make the right decision on a daily basis to change your life. The issue is that it's also easy to make the decision NOT to do the things that will change your life. Eating unhealthy won't kill you today just like eating health won't change your life overnight. But keep doing the same thing everyday and let the time pile up. With that understanding, I've been (and I'm still in the process of) changing my mind frame daily. The things I thought impossible I now realize are more than possible. But everything needs a game plan. If you aren't writing down your visions and dreams, they'll never become reality.
So, what am I called to do? Three things. I'm called to give hope, inspire people to live life, and help people reach their full potential. I'm so thankful for all the birthday wishes, and I was extremely touched by those who shared positives about how what I meant to them. It helps me to remember that I'm not invisible. It helps me to remember that I CAN'T be invisible. My purpose is to big to stay in the same space. There's too many people who need hope. There's too many people trying to find purpose in life and reach their full potential.
So my promise to myself is that on November 9, 2017, as I analyze my 30th year on this Earth, I'll be proud of the man I've become over the year, just like I am now. I'm proud to be a father of two awesome boys. I'm proud of being a devoted husband to an awesome woman. I'm proud to be a homeowner. I'm proud to be an active entrepreneur, finally back to track to pushing for the greatness that I know is within me. And it has to start now. In her famous poem, Marianne Wilson states "As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." I want my actions to give you permission to be free.
I encourage you to start to today. Don't wait until New Year's to make a resolution. Did that really work for you last year? No, this year, start early and carry MOMENTUM into 2017. This is the 4th quarter. Put on the full court press. Hit your two minute offense. Get the based loaded at the bottom of the 9th. PUSH. It hurts. It's stressful. It's HARD. But if you DON'T push, the potential and possibilities that you're pregnant with will never be birthed into the world. If you don't push, you abort the the future that is yours to grasp (borrowed that one from Lisa M. Jones).
If you have a dream, go for it. If you're having trouble overcoming your obstacles, I can relate. But understand, the very fact that you're still their means that it's NOT the obstacle - it's your mindset. You have to be willing and open to change, and you have to get connected with people who are going where you're headed. You have to change what you put in. If what you're watching or listening to isn't giving you life, then why would you expect for life to pour out of you daily? My PRI family is absolutely the best thing that could've happened for my mindset. I'm so thankful that God put such talented and amazing people around me. You guys inspire and encourage me daily. David Morris also put me on to Eric Thomas, and I STRONGLY encourage you to watch his videos if you're serious about changing your mindset.
"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies." Romans 8:31-33.
If God is called you to greatness, don't be timid. Be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9). Despite the current social/political climate or your personal situation, have HOPE. Despite the negativity of life, LIVE it to the fullest. Despite all of the obstacles in your way, strive to change your mindset and reach your full POTENTIAL. If you need help with that, I'll do whatever I can to assist you if you ask. If your struggles are financial, I can absolutely help. If your struggles are getting the necessary graphics and web presence for the business idea that's been sitting in your heart, I can absolutely help with that. If you just need encouragement in dark time, I can absolutely help you with that.
Trust God. Have hope. Be encouraged. Be strong and courageous. And with everything within you, let your light shine. #WMM #SpreadHope #IFinish#ICanIWillIMust #Mindset
